Disregarded

His being a rebel is diregarded

This means that we see Ravana’s actions and qualities in a way that is not collectively approved. It is also a way of saying that he’s wrong; his actions and his purpose of being is misguided.

When the rebelliousness of Ravana is disregarded it means he is often associated with qualities such as greed, lust, anger, pride, ego, and envy.

Film director Ramanand Sagar’s directed TV serial ‘Ramayan’ and writer Arshia Sattar’s translation of the Valmiki’s Ramayana has disregarded the rebelliousness of the character Ravana in the contemporary context.

Ego

With respect to this interpretation being egoistic is represented by highlighting Ravana’s self-pride. Through this perspective, this character can be seen obsessed with his abilities, status, and possessions.

Anger

With respect to this interpretation being angry is represented by highlighting Ravana’s out of control wrath. Through this perspective, this character can be seen angry even after little provocations and is being feared by all because of that.
